THE OCCASIONAL SONG specializes in contemporary acoustic folk-pop; our roster is comprised of talented singer-songwriters who largely perform solo and unplugged, most often with guitar or piano self-accompaniment. In the past, our artists have performed original songs, and also songs by such known artists as Natalie Cole, 10,000 Maniacs, Indigo Girls, Marc Cohn, Alison Krauss, James Taylor, Elton John, and others. Our artists are skilled in interpreting radio ballads and folk songs of today, as well as in crossing genres to create poignant cover versions of mainstream pop songs, Broadway showtunes, and jazz standards. We gladly take requests for “your song,” or work with you to choose the perfect piece to fit your event.
